Today saw the opening of the latest Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and the exciting lounge news continues with the long-awaited opening of the Capital One Lounge tomorrow at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
Tomorrow, Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) will soon see the opening of a Capital One Lounge in Concourse D on Level 2 (near Gate 50). I was passing through the airport this week and noticed signs and an area that is walled off and under construction. I’m bummed that I missed it by a few days. Once open, travelers will have access to four lounges in this concourse. These include:
- The Centurion® Lounge by American Express (review here)
- The Club at LAS (review here)
- United Club℠ (review here)
The Capital One Lounge will be open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Like other locations, it offers a locally sourced tree near the welcome desk, a grab-and-go food selection, a buffet featuring bites like chili crisp sweet potato hash and caviar deviled eggs, and a full bar including locally crafted cocktails on tap, plus local beer and wine. In terms of decor, there are more than 35 art installations by local artists and mugs from a local ceramics studio on display as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the rotunda and the Las Vegas Strip.
Other amenities include:
- Customized wellness offerings with beverage add-ons to boost drinks with ingredients like nano potassium, purple passionflower, nano magnesium, ashwagandha, liposomal vitamin c, and more
- A dedicated open work area and two enclosed work rooms
- A dimly lit relaxation room with ceiling lights designed to mimic the nighttime constellations (guests will be offered eye masks and blankets)
- Six private restrooms equipped with changing tables
Here are the food and wine menus:
Daily Rituals
This Capital One Lounge will be the first location to feature a “Daily Rituals” concept. Servers will roam around the lounge with a cart to share special experiences (I had a caviar cone in the Capital One Landing in Washington DC and I guess this will be similar). In las Vegas, guests can enjoy a morning Caffè Shakerato, an afternoon tea service, or a Sunset Sparkling Toast.
Access
Access to the Capital One Lounges is granted to Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business primary cardholders. They can enjoy unlimited complimentary access, plus complimentary entry for two guests per visit (it costs $45 per visit for additional guests). All other cardholders and non-customers can enter for $90. Children under age two can enter for free with a supervising parent or guardian. Access to all amenities is included with lounge entry.
Anthony’s Take: The Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is one of my new favorite lounges in the United States. I can’t wait to check out the new lounge in Las Vegas. This is going to up the lounge game in Sin City, big time.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: I love the lounges that the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card allows me to access. I’ve been using this card more and more this year. While it does have an annual fee of $395, it provides many travel benefits like a $300 annual credit for bookings through Capital One Travel, up to a $120 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®, and 10x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel as well as 5x miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel. I’d like to hear your rankings for LAS lounges after you visit this one.
