Spirit Airlines ceased operations a few weeks ago. Since then, we have seen Frontier, JetBlue, Breeze Airways, and others step in to cover routes that fell off with the low-cost carrier’s demise. Now, Allegiant is joining the party with eight routes to/from Florida with some of these at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) formerly served by Spirit.
To celebrate the expansion, the airline is offering introductory one-way fares starting as low as $59 along with 1,000 bonus Allways Rewards® points for eligible travelers who book and fly on the newly announced routes. The additions strengthen Allegiant’s strategy of connecting small and mid-sized cities with high-demand vacation markets while continuing to focus on budget-friendly leisure travel.
New routes include:
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to/from Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS) (3x weekly; starts on October 1st)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to/from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) (2x weekly; starts on October 2nd)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to/from Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) (2x weekly; starts on October 2nd)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to/from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) (3x weekly; starts on October 2nd)
- Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB) to/from Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) (2x weekly; starts on October 2nd)
- Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) to/from La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) (2x weekly; starts on October 1st)
- St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to/from Columbia Regional Airport (COU) (3x weekly; starts on November 19th)
- St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to/from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) (2x weekly; starts on October 2nd)

Allegiant says travelers booking eligible itineraries between today, May 19th and June 18th for travel between October 1st and February 9th can earn 1,000 bonus Allways Rewards® points after completing travel on any of the new routes. Bonus points will be deposited within 72 hours after travel is completed. More details here.
The route expansion follows a strong year for Allegiant. Earlier in 2026, the airline earned the number two ranking in The Wall Street Journal’s annual airline rankings. The recognition highlighted the carrier’s operational reliability and customer service performance. Tickets for all eight new routes are now available through Allegiant Air.
Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:
We’re excited to announce these new routes and believe it is an important time for Allegiant to increase travel options in these markets. Our mission is to offer service where it is needed most, and these additions ensure that affordable fares can remain available to consumers despite industry changes.”
Anthony’s Take: Allegiant is smart to boost Florida travel options as Spirit definitely left a low-cost void for many travelers.

I miss the Allegiant of old. Ya know, routes only between third tier airports in the heartland and secondary airports in a major leisure market. It was incomprehensible that they would ever willingly run a route where competition existed.
To see BOS-FLL now being published….there really is no country for old men.
