Delta Air Lines is making a notable change to its partnership with CLEAR and this impacts one of the top perks for its most loyal flyers. Beginning June 1st, SkyMiles Diamond Medallion members will no longer receive complimentary CLEAR+ membership. Instead, they will continue to receive the highest available discounted rate offered to Delta SkyMiles members.

Under the updated policy, members whose CLEAR+ accounts are linked to their SkyMiles profile will see changes based on their renewal date. If a membership renews before June 1st, the complimentary benefit will remain in place for that full term. After that, renewals will switch to the discounted pricing. For renewals occurring on or after June 1st, Diamond Medallion members will automatically be charged a reduced annual rate of $129 for CLEAR+.
The move brings Delta more in line with United Airlines, where top-tier Premier 1K® members pay $129 for CLEAR+, while invitation-only Global Services® members continue to receive complimentary access. Delta’s invitation-only Delta 360° members will also continue to receive CLEAR+ for free. CLEAR will continue to notify members ahead of their renewal dates with specific details about pricing and changes.
Anthony’s Take: The Platinum Card® from American Express will reimburse me for this fee when it’s time to renew. Otherwise, I might have cancelled it. TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID seems to be the better choice lately and it’s included with that membership. The update reflects a broader shift in how airlines structure elite benefits by balancing premium perks with evolving partnership economics while still offering meaningful discounts to top-tier customers.
