Air Canada has officially opened its fourth Air Canada Café, bringing its grab-and-go concept to Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Located in the domestic terminal between Gates C46 and C47, the new space blends West Coast inspiration with modern design and offers a locally focused, convenient, and premium experience for travelers on the go.

The 2,142-square-foot café captures the essence of Vancouver. Developed in partnership with Vancouver-based design firm Smart Design, the space combines aviation-inspired elements with materials and textures drawn from British Columbia’s landscape. A fuselage-inspired ceiling and river rock-style lighting fixtures by A-N-D Light create an airy atmosphere, while ample seating and power outlets make it easy for guests to work or relax before their flights.

The Air Canada Café offers a curated menu featuring locally sourced and globally inspired dishes. Travelers can grab a Korean crispy chicken burger, Vietnamese nems (spring rolls), or matcha and white chocolate overnight oats. Sweet treats include Lee’s Donuts and Nanaimo bars.

The café also offers an impressive beverage selection, including local craft beers and seltzers from Persephone Brewing, nitro cold brew on tap, and a range of milk alternatives such as oat, almond, and soy. Ingredient lists and allergen details are easily accessible through QR codes to ensure inclusivity for travelers with dietary preferences or restrictions.

Complementing its culinary offerings, the café showcases a striking series of original artworks by Vancouver-based artist Scott Sueme. His bold, abstract compositions explore identity, nature, and belonging. These themes mirror both Vancouver’s cultural fabric and Air Canada’s connection to the communities it serves.

The new Air Canada Café accommodates up to 52 guests in a thoughtfully designed, productivity-oriented environment. Power outlets and USB-C ports are available at every seat. Entry is available to travelers flying in Air Canada Business Class, Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite Members, Star Alliance Gold customers, and Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders. Guests can simply scan their boarding passes at the eGates for access.

Vancouver’s new Air Canada Café joins existing locations at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL). The café represents another step in Air Canada’s broader investment in enhancing its lounge network. By the end of 2025, the airline plans to add over 500 new lounge seats worldwide.

Anthony’s Take: Grab-and-go lounges are the in thing. I’ve reviewed both the offerings of American and United before. With this latest opening, Air Canada blends local culture with functional design. The Vancouver Air Canada Café offers travelers an authentic taste of the city whether they choose to linger in the lounge or take their meal to-go.
