Alaska Airlines is making changes to its route network in 2026 as it continues its alignment with Hawaiian Airlines and figures out which routes make the most sense for the carrier. Nine routes are being chopped with San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) seeing the most losses.

Routes that are being cut include:

  • Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) to/from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) (already ended)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to/from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (ends on January 11th)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to/from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) (ends on January 6th)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to/from San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) (ends on January 6th)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to/from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) (ends on January 6th)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to/from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) (ends on January 6th)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to/from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) (ends on March 17th)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to/from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) (ends on June 9th)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to/from Orlando International Airport (MCO) (ends on May 12th)

Anthony’s Take: Alaska has been building its presence even more at San Diego International Airport (SAN). These cuts are not surprising and the routes are all flown by either American, Delta, and United.
