Hotel lounges have long been a favorite perk for frequent travelers (myself included). They offer a quiet retreat with complimentary breakfasts, drinks, and even happy hour spreads. However, in recent years, hotel lounges in the US have become less common. This has made it difficult to know which properties still have them without painstakingly checking each individual property. This just changed, thanks to Marriott’s new search feature that lets travelers easily filter for hotels with open executive lounges. This streamlines the planning process and ensures you get the most value from your stay.

Once a hallmark of many hotel brands, executive lounges have become rarer in many US cities. Brands like JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, and Sheraton continue to offer them, but availability varies greatly by location. Marriott has simplified the search process by adding a filter to its website and app.

Marriott Lounge Filter 1

Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit Marriott.com or the Marriott Bonvoy® app.
  2. Enter your destination and travel dates.
  3. In the search filter options, select “Hotels with Executive Lounges.”
  4. The results will update to show only hotels with open lounges.

This feature is especially helpful for travelers who rely on lounge perks to cut down on dining costs or those in need of a quiet space to work. Results will not include lounges that require While the filter shows properties with open lounges, it does not confirm your individual eligibility. Access depends on your room type or Marriott Bonvoy® elite status. Those with access include:

  • Guests booked in Club-level rooms
  • Platinum Elite members
  • Titanium Elite members
  • Ambassador Elite members

These tiers grant complimentary lounge access for you and (in most cases) one guest. Results will not include properties where lounge access requires payment (like Ritz-Carlton Club Lounges).

Anthony’s Take: I love this feature and am happy that Marriott has added it. It’s smart enough to know when a lounge will be open based on your stay dates and provides a great tool when booking.
