I’ve stayed thousands of nights in hotels and have had impeccably clean spaces through those that made me not want to take my shoes off. One website is chronically some of the cringe-worthiest rooms out there with everything from unidentified marks on sheets to undetermined fluids on the floors. This site will certainly make you want to pack your Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
Hotel Nightmares documents the ickiest finds from various hotel rooms. The photos posted are pretty gross. I’ve encountered old leftovers, a used condom, a bra, tons of hair, and a dirty sock (not to mention all sorts of dried stains on furniture and bedding).
Back in 2023, I wrote about the worst hotels in the United States. I think some of these have those beat.
Anthony’s Take: My approach to hotel stays is to clean anything visibly dirty and then to try not to think about what I can’t see. I guess they say it builds a strong immune system.
