The Hyatt Regency Cincinnati is a functional and convenient business hotel steps away from the convention center. This was my second stay at the hotel and this time I was upgraded to a Studio Suite. My first review can be found here. I focused on a lot of the amenities in my last review and this one will focus solely on the suite upgrade I received.
Anthony’s Take: This hotel and the Lytle Park Hotel, Autograph Collection (review here) have become my go-to properties when in Cincinnati. On this trip, I found the staff to be friendly and appreciated a proactive upgrade to a Studio Suite. I was only in the hotel around 18 hours this time, but enjoyed my stay and will return.
Booking
I booked 1 King Bed room on a “Member Rate” of $222 plus taxes and fees. The hotel is a Category 3 property and room redemptions range from 9,000 to 15,000 per night when redeeming World of Hyatt points for a standard room.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The approximately 13.3-mile ride took 20 minutes and cost $41. I returned to the airport the next morning in the same way and at a similar cost.
Location
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Duke Energy Convention Center. There are also stores and restaurants nearby. There is a good amount of construction around the hotel, but it did not impact transit to/from the hotel.
Check-in
I arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM and my suite was ready. The agent checking me in told me that I was upgraded to a Studio Suite. I had noticed this in the app, but thanked her. She offered late checkout, which I did not need, and printed my keys. A moment later I was off to check out the suite.
I was provided with a welcome letter at check in. I was not given a breakfast voucher like on my last visit, but it didn’t matter as I did not have the time to check out breakfast anyway.
I liked that iced tea and cookies were offered in the afternoon on this trip.
The elevators are across from reception.
The elevator lobby and hallways were in good repair and kept clean while I was there.
Studio Suite (1706)
There are 491 rooms and suites at the hotel.
There are two entrances to the suite. The one further down the hallway opened to a kitchen area with two chairs along the counter, a refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, and lots of counter space.
The refrigerator was full size and empty for guest use.
There was plenty of counter space if you wanted to cook or entertain. The cabinets were empty.
A microwave was on the counter.
A bag of snacks was delivered as a welcome amenity while I was out.
A small living area is next to the kitchen. It held a couch, chairs, and a few tables.
Two chairs were near the couch.
A desk was next to the kitchen area.
A dresser and TV were on the same wall as the desk.
A Keurig, coffee pods, condiments, tea, cups, and ice bucket were below.
One cabinet held the safe.
The bed was nearby along with two nightstands.
The bathroom as well as the second exit were to the left.
A full-length mirror was also found here.
The closet was also here. It held a robe and a luggage rack.
For as much space as the room had, the bathroom was small. It was across from the closet and contained a toilet, vanity with single sink, and glassed-in shower.
A bar of Pharmacopia brand soap was next to the sink.
A good assortment of other toiletries was also found here.
The toilet was evenly spaced between the vanity and the shower.
The shower was a fine size with good water pressure and temperature.
Pharmacopia shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were mounted to the shower wall.
Overall Impression:
The Hyatt Regency Cincinnati has everything I need for the quick trips I take there. I like that the market is open 24 hours a day and find the staff nice, elite treatment good, and overall experience pleasant. I found the elite recognition better on this visit than my last one in 2024.
