JetBlue and Brightline (America’s first and only privately owned, operated, and maintained passenger rail system) announced today that the two companies have partnered to make it easier to travel across the state of Florida. JetBlue passengers can now book Brightline tickets as part of a combined itinerary and access cities across Florida like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando without needing to rent a car and sit in traffic.

Brightline provides easy connections between JetBlue flights and its stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. The Orlando station is located at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and allows for easy transfers between air and rail. Brightline offers shuttle service between airports and its nearby stations. This is included in the JetBlue air-and-rail booking for added convenience. When booking JetBlue’s Mint® or core experience, passengers will be matched with Premium or Smart fare classes depending on the booking.

In addition to adding connections on new bookings, this agreement also enables JetBlue to offer Brightline rail segments in the event of irregular operations. This provides more flexibility for customers and enhances recovery options when travel goes off the rails (no pun intended).

Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, said:

As we continue to grow in Florida and offer more flights to and from cities like Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, our partnership with Brightline helps us deliver even more value and convenience to our customers. JetBlue and Brightline share a commitment to innovation and great service, and together we’re expanding transportation options for all of our customers to get to where they want to go, whether they’re starting their journey, heading to their final destination, or adjusting plans along the way.”

Barbara Drahl, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Strategy at Brightline, added:

We are proud to partner with JetBlue to enhance connectivity throughout Florida. This partnership enables travelers to book a single ticket for both air and rail, offering a fast, reliable, and eco-friendly rail transportation option while seamlessly connecting to JetBlue’s extensive network.”

Anthony’s Take: I have yet to ride Brightline, but have heard great things about the rail service that is zipping around South Florida. This is a great partnership even though you cannot earn or redeem points (maybe that will change in the future).

I’d be thrilled to earn B6 points on Brightline standalone departures! I’d use it more often. Crossing fingers.
