Air France unveiled the latest version of its super-luxe La Première (First Class) cabin today. Four suites (each measuring around 3.5 square meters, which is around 25% larger than what is currently offered) will be introduced on Air France’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The first refitted aircraft will take flight this spring.

The cabin is set up in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each side suite features five windows while the middle two spaces are best for couples traveling together (when flying solo there is a partition). Each suite includes a seat and a chaise lounge that converts to a bed.

The new design took three years to develop and features a unique and fully adaptable space. The seat adjusts to four different positions: takeoff, landing, dining, and relaxation mode. An embossed leather headrest features Air France’s historic winged seahorse emblem.  The color scheme looks elegant with cream, champagne, grey, and red tones. Plush ergonomic padding in the seat adapts to each passenger’s body for optimal comfort. A nearby console and table provide plenty of space for working or dining. Each suite also includes two 32-inch entertainment screens and a tablet.

The suites do not have doors and offer thick, floor-to-ceiling curtains for complete privacy. The side suites boast five windows, an Air France exclusive feature. Meanwhile, adjacent suites in the center of the cabin allow for shared travel while maintaining privacy thanks to a full-height, electric sliding partition that can be activated at the touch of a button.

Benjamin Smith, President of Air France and CEO of Air France-KLM Group, said:

We continue to invest in state-of-the-art products for our customers at every step of their journey, with the aim of positioning Air France at the highest level worldwide. With a new private ground experience at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and a completely redesigned, larger-than-ever La Première suite onboard, this new experience truly is the highest expression of travel. It continues to be elevated by our dedicated staff, who strive to make each journey an exceptional moment. Going forward, we will make this new product available on more aircraft to more destinations, a testament to our commitment to excellence.”

Of course, dining is set to be exceptional with menus created by Michelin-starred chefs. Air France is revered for its dining offerings currently in both the La Première (First Class) and the lounges serving this cabin.

Anthony’s Take: Air France La Première is one of the most luxurious travel experiences and one that is on my bucket list. The new cabin looks incredible.
