Tragedy struck the skies over Washington DC last night when American Airlines flight AA5342 from Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) collided with an army helicopter. All on board are presumed dead at this point. The identities of the passengers and crew are being released as they are being identified.

The crew has been identified as Jose Campos (captain), Samuel Lilley (first officer), Ian Epstein (flight attendant), and Danasia Elder (flight attendant).

Some figure skaters and their coaches were identified as Genia Shishkova (coach), Vadim Naumov (coach), Spencer Lane, Jinna Han, Eddie Zhou, Everly Livingston, Lydia Livingston, Franco Aparicio, Inna Volyanskaya (coach), Sean Kay, and Angela Yang.

Anthony’s Take: The aftermath of this tragic crash is still unfolding. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of all of those lost. Press conferences today cast blame on the past administration. It’s not the time for that and this situation should be treated with some reverence.
