We were in Aruba this weekend and had some time to check out one of the two lounges at Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) on the way home. The International VIP Lounge is small, crowded and pretty bare bones, but it was better than waiting in the terminal.

Access

A desk is on the left side upon entering the lounge to check credentials. Entrance is granted to those with Priority Pass memberships as well as those who paid for VIP airport services.

Anthony’s Take: The lounge offers a small selection of sandwiches and a few hot items as well as soft drinks, beer, and wine on a complimentary basis. It was packed when we visited except for the small room across from the reception desk. It’s a basic lounge, but was air conditioned and less crowded than the terminal.

Bar

There is a bar lining the back wall of the lounge. Liquor, beer, wine, and soft drinks are available. Cocktails are not complimentary, but beer and wine are free. Drinks are limited to three per person. A QR code on the bar had the menu of what was available.

Food

Lunch was being served during our visit. Food is found on a buffet on the right side of the bar. There was a small selection of sandwiches, wraps, mozzarella sticks, and fried shrimp on offer.

Seating & Decor

As mentioned above, the lounge was crowded when we were there except for the small room across from reception (pictured above). We found two seats and stayed in them for the hour we visited the lounge.

The lounge has limited seating and a sign was put in front of the entrance while we were there that it had reached capacity. Decor was also limited to a some wall art and a Christmas tree near the entrance.

Amenities

This lounge offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, a few TVs, and the food and beverages mentioned above.

Overall Impression:

This lounge is a small and offers a limited buffet. Seating is tight and I wouldn’t go out of my way to spend time here.
