Breeze Airways is opening its 12th base and adding six routes to/from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). If you’re not familiar, Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline that offers point-to-point flights to underserved markets across the United States using a fleet of modern Airbus A220 aircraft. I flew Breeze for a second time earlier this year and loved the experience (you can read the full review here). Travel & Leisure named it as one of the five best US airlines for the third consecutive year in 2024. Breeze serves 66 cities in 30 states.

Breeze will have 12 bases in total with five in the state of Florida. Its latest will co-domicile with Tampa International Airport (TPA). New routes being added to the map to/from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) include:

  • Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) (4x weekly; starts on November 20th)
  • Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (HVN) (2x weekly; starts on February 7th)
  • Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) (seasonal flight; dates not yet announced)
  • Portland International Jetport (PWM) (2x weekly; starts on November 20th)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) (2x weekly; starts on November 22nd)
  • Richmond International Airport (RIC) (2x weekly; starts on November 22nd)

These routes are in addition to the five routes already served from here. These include:

  • Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) (4x to 5x weekly)
  • Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) (2x weekly)
  • Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) (4x weekly)
  • Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) (2x weekly)
  • Westchester County Airport (HPN) (2x weekly)

Anthony’s Take: Breeze Airways continues to expand and serve airports without much competition. It’s Florida strategy is smart (especially in the winter).
