Delta’s IT meltdown last weekend and into this week upended the plans of passengers. It left thousands stranded in airports without hotels, rental cars, or alternate flights. One passenger decided to enact revenge on Delta by being incredibly wasteful in the Sky Club®. A video he posted to TikTok shows him eating gluttonously, running the shower unnecessarily, and wasting everything from hand sanitizer to magazines. The behavior is petty, but the video is funny.
@kylephilippi This will set them back! #delta #skymiles #deltamedallionlife #skyclub #microsoftoutage #flightdelay #layover @delta #airport
TikTok user @KylePhilippi posted his friend and himself stuffing themselves with complimentary food, running the shower, filling their pockets with snacks, and pouring wine into the trash. Philippi was part of a group of ten people traveling to Quito, Ecuador on a volunteer trip. He claims that the group lost its money spent on accommodations, transportation, and food. This was his way of paying Delta back.
I’m sure that this had no impact on Delta and makes him look a bit petty. That said, it is funny to see him act so carefree and just throw expected behavior out the window.
Anthony’s Take: The video is hilarious, but I sincerely believe that did not even make it on Delta’s radar based on how much money the carrier lost this past week.

That’s easy. Block all 10 of them from any future visits to the Skyclubs. Even with what happened (flight delays, etc.), he shouldn’t be able to act like that in a skyclub. Not only does he know better, that type of behavior shouldn’t be allowed or encouraged. And, it’s small beans compared to the millions of $’s Delta lost.
Sorry: where’s the funny part?
12 year olds aren’t allowed unaccompanied in Sky Clubs.
At least SWA compensated there customers pretty fairly during the Christmas ’22 meltdown.
slowly Delta customers are being compensated…
Delta customers are not being compensated. I got a $100 e-credit for a cancelled flight and incurred another $1000 in expenses for lodging , Uber, and a flight out in another carrier.
dumb, grow the f-up.
Apparently none of these people know what travel and flight delay insurance are?
They’re too cheap or stupid to take care of themselves, so they should punish the airline that cancelled its own services for safety’s sake?
Keeping things classy DL pax!
Everyone acts like its Delta’s fault. Blame the IT company that put many airlines in trouble. I thought we were all adults here. smdh
Disgusting behavior. People are starving for food in places and you are being a wasteful Ass because you were out some money because of something Delta had zero to do with? You should be banned from all airport lounges and airlines. The place in Ecuador is probably better off without people like these helping them! Probably claim to be Christian missionaries too.
the only disgusting behavior here has been Delta and Delta’s CEO… the place is having a MELTDOWN and he jets off to Paris for the Olympics? He’s either tone deaf to the point of negligence, or has such contempt and disregard for others that he doesn’t care. Thats not how true leaders behave. And for the Delta Board of Directors to not summarily dismiss him without a golden parachute is negligent on their part. Southwest at least stepped up and compensated their passengers during the meltdown. Delta maybe had nothing to do with Crowdstrike but how they stepped up and handled it after the fact was shocking. Delta was supposed to be prized as the premium brand and they’ve demonstrated exactly how much they care about customer loyalty… Side note weird and creepy comment… why would a missionary have to be “christian” you think Christians are the only ones who volunteer or do missions? You don’t think any agnostic or atheist’s volunteer to be good people? Pretty disgusting comment.
do it!!! do it !!! again !!! again !!!!
