United Airlines updated its schedule and two international destinations have been removed. Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) has been removed through the end of the schedule and Tenerife South Airport (TFS) loses United flights on April 30th.

Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (AMM)

United launched service from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in May 2022. The route was served 3x weekly, but paused several times during the past few years. Based on the war in Israel, United has now cancelled the route through the end of the schedule. This flight has not run since July 29th and it will be interesting to see if United brings it back in the future. Aegean, Air Arabia, Austrian, British Airways, EgyptAir, flydubai, Gulf Air, Lufthansa, Royal Jordanian, Saudia, Turkish Airlines, and Wizz Air will continue to fly there.

Tenerife South Airport (TFS)

Flights to the largest of the Canary Islands began in June 2022. This route was originally flown seasonally 3x weekly. This shifted to year-round recently and now has been dropped after April 30th. It could come back next summer, but that has not yet been announced. British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Condor, Discover Airlines, easyJet, Edelweiss Air, Iberia Express, Norwegian, Ryanair, TAP Air Portugal, TUI Fly, Vueling, and Wizz Air will continue to fly there.

Anthony’s Take: United has the most extensive and exciting international route network. The Amman cut makes sense over safety concerns and we’ll have to see if Tenerife returns next summer.
