As I wrote about here, we were in Miami for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®). We went to A Taste of Italy on the first night (my take here), Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents Wine Spectator’s Best of the Best on Friday night (my take here), and Dinner presented by Consorzio DOC delle Venezie Pinot Grigio on Saturday night (my take here). All of these were included in the Marriott Bonvoy Moments™ package I had won. This auction also included access to the private, industry event known as the Chef After Party. We went to this event last year and had a great time. It was hosted in 2022 at the Time Out Market. This year, the venue changed to the W South Beach.
We were hungry after the disappointing dinner we had a La Mar (read about that here). Luckily, this event had a lot of great eats including the delicious roasted pork pictured above.
The sliders made with the roasted pork were flavorful and perfectly sized.
Nearby, Truffle Risotto was being dished up. Each serving held quite a bit, but it was tasty and I cleaned my plate.
The event took place indoors and on the outdoor patio of the hotel’s restaurant. Inside there were several tables loaded with oysters.
Around the corner from the oysters, there were pizzas being pulled right from the ovens.
Towards the back outside, there was a dessert table. I sampled a few and liked having some sweet bites since we skipped dessert at dinner. The crowd was manageable and everyone was having a great time. It was good to be in a venue that could easily house the group without it feeling cramped.
Anthony’s Take: The Chef After Party is always a lot of fun. I preferred last year’s event at Time Out Market, but this year was a lot of fun and offered some tasty dishes to end the night.
