Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to more than 20 cities across Canada and the US. The airline is launching nonstop flights to San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) from Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) this December.
San Diego International Airport (SAN) flights will begin on December 9th and run 4x weekly year round (on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays). Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) will be a 3x weekly, seasonal service running on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from December 12th.
These new flights are operated with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi.
Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, said:
Adding these two Southern California centers to our network means there are new options for passengers to enjoy Porter’s genuine onboard hospitality when planning their trips. Our presence across the continent continues to grow, with a network of flights that provides real competitive choices for travelers.”
Anthony’s Take: I’ve flown Air Canada and WestJet (I compared their Business Class offerings here), but still have yet to try Porter Airlines. Porter just added additional Las Vegas service and now some new California routes. It’s great to see the growth of this Canadian carrier.
