American Airlines flight AA954 departed Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) en route to New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) yesterday. Passengers and crew heard loud noises coming from the cargo hold of the Boeing 777-300ER and the aircraft returned to discover nothing there. Quite the eerie Halloween mystery.

The aircraft returned to its departure airport after around two hours of flying. Armed police opened the cargo hold and stormed the space thinking that there might be a stowaway on board. When they entered the space, they found nothing. The flight did originally depart on Halloween, but there were no people (or other visible spirits) in the cargo hold. The cause of the noise could not be determined and the crew ended up timing out. This resulted in the flight being cancelled.
Anthony’s Take: Thankfully, no one was trapped and there was not a stowaway inside. It’s odd that the source of the suspicious sounds could not be figured out. October 31st is at least the perfect day for this incident.
