The Park Hyatt brand has seen some exciting news this week. Yesterday, I wrote about the Park Hyatt Johannesburg beginning to take reservations for stays in October. Hyatt also just announced that it has entered into an agreement with China Resources Land to develop a new Park Hyatt Hotel in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, China.
Park Hyatt Xi’an will offer 192 rooms and suites, restaurants, wellness amenities, as well as meeting and event spaces. The hotel will work to seamlessly integrate modern comforts with personalized service and the rich cultural heritage of Xi’an. The Park Hyatt will be well-situated within the city’s CCBD project of the Qujiang District and nearly four miles away from the old city center’s landmark Bell Tower. The hotel’s prime location will also offer convenient access to the city’s commercial hub, vibrant cultural scenes, and upscale shopping (including The Xi’an Mixc, which is a premium lifestyle and shopping center).
Stephen Ho, President of Growth and Operations, Asia Pacific at Hyatt, said:
We truly treasure the long-term relationship with CR Land, an anchor owner who consistently supports our development strategy in this key market. With close collaboration with CR Land, we have developed exceptional offerings and operational excellence in key cities across China. We are grateful to join hands once again with CR Land to bring the Park Hyatt brand to the historically significant and vibrant city of Xi’an. We are confident that we will deliver another exceptional hotel and strengthen Hyatt’s brand presence in Xi’an, contributing to the city’s attraction as a major tourism, business, technology and transportation hub.”
Park Hyatt currently has 46 locations worldwide. I’ve enjoyed stays at many of them including Chicago (review here), New York, St. Kitts, Vienna (review here), and Zurich (review here). Xi’an already boasts a Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and a Hyatt Centric.
Anthony’s Take: Park Hyatt is one of my favorite brands. It’s elegant and the service is consistently good. I’ve always wanted to see the Terracotta Army in Xi’an and this hotel looks like it will be a good place to stay in the future.
