Martha Stewart has expanded her restaurant concept with the opening of a second location of The Bedford by Martha Stewart at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT. The new restaurant is now accepting reservations for dinner service and follows the success of the original Bedford location at Paris Las Vegas (my review here).

The Bedford concept is inspired by Stewart’s 1925 country farmhouse in Westchester County, NY. The restaurant’s design reflects her well-known style of entertaining and home décor, incorporating details drawn directly from her home (like the Las Vegas location). Elements such as marble countertops and copper cookware have been adapted into the restaurant’s interior to recreate the atmosphere of Stewart’s farmhouse while maintaining a refined dining setting.

The restaurant’s menu focuses on dishes inspired by Stewart’s personal recipes and cooking style, featuring ingredients sourced locally whenever possible.

Martha Pierogis

Signature menu items include Big Martha’s pierogies, a Kurobuta pork chop and a classic Niçoise salad. Guests can also order a variety of cocktails inspired by Stewart, including the Martha-tini and the frozen pomegranate Martha-rita. I’m sad to see that the Roast Chicken (carved tableside) is not on the menu. The Smashed Baked Potato is on there and even though $17 for a baked potato might sound expensive, it was so worth it. When I have had it in Las Vegas, the servers raised it into the air and dropped it several times on the cutting board. They then added butter and provided us with several dishes containing sour cream, chives, and lardons.

The new Bedford restaurant is located in the Grand Pequot Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Dining hours include breakfast and dinner seven days a week. Lunch service is offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Anthony’s Take: With the opening of the new location, Stewart continues to expand her hospitality presence while bringing her signature style of entertaining and home-inspired cuisine to diners in Connecticut. Such a good thing, in my opinion.
