JetBlue announced today that it is introducing Blueprint by JetBlue™, a personalized inflight experience that will allow passengers an entertainment experience similar to what they experience at home with streaming services. The coolest part of this is the ability to start watching something on one flight and pick it up on another where you last stopped.
Blueprint by JetBlue™ offers the following features:
- Watch party: Passengers can watch the same movie or TV show at the exact same time with up to five other customers on the same flight. JetBlue is the first airline to allow up to six customers to watch the same content at once with play and pause linked across screens.
- Content recommendations: Recommendations will be personalized based on other content watched.
- Pick up where you left off: Passengers can continue watching content whether that’s a same-day connection or a flight a month later.
- Saved favorites: Favorites can be saved for future flights.
- Saved settings: Volume, accessibility, and parental controls can carry between flights in saved settings.
- Content partnerships: JetBlue is partnering with Peacock for streaming content.
In addition to entertainment, Blueprint by JetBlue™ will enhance other parts of the passenger experience, including:
- Personal greetings: Customers can change how they are addressed on the seatback screens. This will also include confetti on screen and a complimentary drink for guests (age 21+) on their birthdays.
- Flight connect: Connecting flight information will be provided automatically.
- Seatback ordering: JetBlue’s seatback ordering feature will be added to A321neo with Mint aircraft to allow passengers to make dining selections.
- Loyalty made easy: Passengers can join JetBlue’s loyalty program with just a few clicks.
Jayne O’Brien, Head of Marketing and Customer Support at JetBlue, said:
JetBlue has always been an innovator as the first to have seatback screens and fast, free and unlimited Wi-Fi on every aircraft. By launching Blueprint by JetBlue, we are doubling down on our commitment to help customers create an inflight experience tailored to their needs and preferences, making their flight as comfortable as their own living rooms.”
Anthony’s Take: This has some cool features. Delta does a fair amount of personalization on board its flights, but I love that these features carryover to future flights and allow you to save preferences.
