A JetBlue passenger took to TikTok to share her recent experience. The video shows the cabin filled with mist as the passengers hunker down for a four hour flight that was described as cold and wet.
@savinnyc Nothing better than being on a 4hr flight back to new york soaking wet and cold #flying #plane #vacation #pilot #fyp
The four-hour flight was bound for New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and the passenger questions what the mist is that is chilling and dampening the cabin. The mist is caused by water condensing on air-handling units and cooling coils when humid air reaches the cool surfaces (according to the Federal Energy Management Program from the US Department of Energy). It’s harmless, but annoying to have to deal with this much moisture in flight.
Anthony’s Take: Nothing to fear, but I’d be annoyed if the plane was filled with this much cold moisture blowing through the air on a four-hour flight.
