Hyatt continues to impress me with the growth to its portfolio. While I’m not a big fan of all-inclusive resorts (Hyatt added a bunch in December), I do love a luxe city hotel.

Hyatt’s latest acquisition is for Dream Hotel Group. This will bring 36 properties under the Hyatt umbrella including Dream Hotels (which will become part of its Boundless Collection), The Chatwal, and Unscripted Hotels. Hyatt’s brand footprint will grow in strategic destinations like Nashville, Hollywood, Las Vegas, South Beach, Saint Lucia, Doha, and New York City. It will also bring in new markets like the Catskills and Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico.

The Chatwal NYC

I stayed at the historic Chatwal in NYC and enjoyed my time in the art deco hotel located in Midtown. The hotel was the home of the Lambs Club when it opened in 1905. It used to be part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, so I was happy to earn points and look forward to staying again and earning with World of Hyatt.

Dream Hotels have long been on my radar. The one in Los Angeles has a TAO restaurant (and I always enjoy those even if some say they are loud and scene-y). I will definitely want to check these out once they’re fully integrated into Hyatt.

Anthony’s Take: More choice is always a good thing. The biggest complaint about Hyatt has always been its limited footprint. With its recent acquisitions, plus partnerships with SLH and MGM, this becomes less of a concern. I look forward to staying at some of these new properties in the future.

Dude – you plagiarized the press release? Kind of dialing it in, no?
