United has rolled out newly designed luggage tags for Premier members. They look great, but if you want a set of your own they need to be requested. Premier Silver, Gold, Platinum, and 1K® members who earned status in 2022 can receive new tags made from recycled materials.

Membership kits used to be sent every year before the pandemic. These included luggage tags, beverage coupons, and other items depending on your status level. One year, I was sent an awesome MOVA globe that retails for $200 for being Global Services. Other years, kits included coasters and wireless chargers for 1K® and Global Services members. We’ll see if this year it’s just tags or if there are any other inclusions.

The Global Services tags focused on cities for many years and had a cool, black metal design. This year’s tag will feature Petra, Jordan. Past years included Chicago in 2016, San Francisco in 2017, New York in 2018, Houston in 2019, and Denver in 2020. There was no tag in 2021 or 2022 due to the pandemic (why this makes sense I have no idea as I’m sure the tags were not spreading Covid). You’d also think that United would continue to feature its hubs since there wasn’t a Washington DC or Los Angeles tag issued to my knowledge.

Anthony’s Take: It’s always nice to receive branded swag and to be able to showoff your hard-earned status through your luggage tags. I’m glad United is back to offering these (like American and Delta).
