Last week, I had to go to a conference in Fort Worth. I spent one night at the AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown. It’s an easy walk to the Fort Worth Convention Center and was the perfect location for my quick trip.
Anthony’s Take: The AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown is modern and comfortable. I spent less than 24 hours at the hotel, but found the staff friendly and the room to be well appointed and clean. This is a great choice if you have an event at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Booking
I was booked into a Guest Room, 1 King room by my company for an expo I was attending. Had I booked directly from Marriott.com on a “Member Rate Flexible,” it would have cost around $240 including taxes and fees per night. Most nights seem to be in this range. The hotel can also be booked with Marriott Bonvoy® points (21,000-39,000 points per night) with rates varying since Marriott eliminated its award buckets.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to the hotel. It took around 23 minutes for the 22-mile ride and cost $47. Heading home, I took another Uber Comfort at a similar cost and time.
Location
The location of this hotel is near the Fort Worth Convention Center. There are lots of restaurants, shopping, and attractions nearby.
Check-in
I arrived at the hotel around 7:00 PM and my room was ready. The agent was friendly and informed me that I had been upgraded to a Deluxe Guest room, 1 King, Sofa bed. I chose points as a welcome amenity. Late checkout was offered, but I did not need it. I had my keys and was off to my room in minutes.
The lobby is located an escalator ride up once you arrive at the hotel.
The same elevators take you to your room.
The lobby is large and offers lots of seating and a restaurant.
A whiskey tasting was being held at the bar when I arrived. During the day this space was completely empty.
The elevator lobby and hallways on the ninth floor were clean and looked recently refreshed.
Deluxe Guest room, 1 King, Sofa bed (915)
There are 252 rooms and no suites at the hotel.
The room opens with an open closet on the right side. This held an iron and ironing board, extra pillows, a refrigerator, coffeemaker, ice bucket, and safe.
The refrigerator held two bottles of water.
The coffeemaker, coffee, and condiments were on a shelf above the refrigerator.
The bathroom was located on the left side. It was a smaller bathroom with a single sink, toilet, and glassed-in shower.
Korres branded bar soap was on the counter.
Body lotion, a shoe sponge, and vanity kit were on a cart next to the vanity.
The shower was a good size. Water pressure was fine, but the temperature was not very warm.
Korres brand shampoo, conditioner, and Alice + Co shower gel were mounted to the shower wall.
The toilet was well spaced within the room.
The bedroom filled the rest of the space
The king-sized bed was comfortable. It was flanked by two nightstands.
A large bench served as a space for luggage and to sit. A TV was mounted here across from the bed.
A couch was situated next to the bed.
A desk was located across from it and near the window.
Public Areas & Amenities
The AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown offers comfortable lobby seating, a fitness center, a pantry selling snacks and sundries, a computer and printer for guest use, an ATM, and the restaurant/bar named AC Kitchen in the lobby.
The computer is near reception.
The ATM is down the hall.
A small convenience store sells beverages and food in the lobby.
The Fitness Center was on the smaller side, but functional.
It had plenty of equipment (especially for cardio).
Bikes and elliptical machines lined the space by the windows.
Towels and water were provided.
Overall Impression: The AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown offers comfortable rooms and a convenient location. I’d return if staying in Fort Worth for a conference.
