Frontier Airlines has introduced a new Platinum Status Challenge. This gives travelers an accelerated path to Elite Platinum Status through the end of 2026. For a $99 enrollment fee and by earning 12,500 Elite Status Points within 90 days, participants can unlock Frontier’s highest tier of benefits without the usual 50,000-point requirement.

Key Benefits of Elite Platinum Status

Platinum members enjoy a range of perks designed to add value and flexibility to their travels, including:

  • Unlimited companion travel (with the ability to select a different companion for each flight).
  • A free checked bag and a free carry-on for every traveler on the booking.
  • Premium seating perks, including complimentary premium seat selection at booking, upgrades to UpFront Plus seating 12 hours before departure, and eligibility for First Class upgrades beginning in early 2026 (subject to availability).
  • Group 1 boarding, priority customer care, and no change or cancel fees.

Enrollment in the Platinum Status Challenge is available through December 31st. Participants who meet the requirements will retain their status through December 31, 2026.

Elite Status Points accrue on purchases made through FlyFrontier.com or the Frontier mobile app, covering flights, bags, seats, and bundles. Members earn 10x points per $1 spent, with higher multipliers for existing elite tiers. Additional points can be earned through everyday purchases using the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard®, which earns 1x point per $1.

The Platinum Challenge is part of a larger transformation at Frontier Airlines, known as The New Frontier. This evolution is about more than low fares. It’s about pairing affordability with a better overall travel experience. Customers are already seeing meaningful changes: clearer and more flexible fare options, enhanced support, and new seating choices designed to add comfort without losing value.

Looking ahead to 2026, Frontier will introduce First Class seating. Platinum members are eligible for complimentary upgrades. This is in addition to upgrades into Premium and UpFront Plus seating.

Bobby Schroeter, Frontier’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

Platinum Status delivers incredible value, flexibility, and comfort for our most loyal travelers. From unlimited companion travel to free bags, upgrades to premium seating, and now upcoming eligibility for First Class upgrades in 2026, the Platinum Challenge is an extraordinary opportunity at a fraction of the normal requirement.”

Anthony’s Take: If you have plans to fly Frontier, this is a great offer. I’m waiting for First Class seats to arrive before flying Frontier. Once they do, I’ll be reporting back.
