In January, a Turkish Airlines passenger at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) was arrested while waiting to board his flight to Istanbul Airport (IST). He was caught on camera shoplifting a COACH® wallet and his excuses once confronted by police are comical.

The video above starts with police in the COACH® store in Terminal D. They speak with a store employee and she shows them surveillance video that captures the man putting the stolen wallet into a bag along with another item. Police find the man in the airport and confront him. He rambles a bit and then begins making excuses such as the sales associate gave it to him for free and that he is from a good family and would not steal.

His story is filled with inconsistencies and in light of the video surveillance, he’s lying. The employee chooses to press charges and the man is not allowed to board his flight.

Anthony’s Take: I’m not sure how this man would think that there would not be security cameras in a retail store located in a major airport. His excuses are laughable and he’ll hopefully learn a lesson here. The outcome of his arrest has not been disclosed.
