UPDATE: This promo is now live here.

It looks like Marriott Bonvoy® is gearing up to roll out its first global promotion for 2025. This one (like in the past few years) should offer 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points per night and double elite qualifying nights on paid stays between February 11th and April 28th.

Bonvoy Q1 Promo 2025 leaked?

Last year, the promo dates were between February 13th and April 15th. This one will be two weeks longer if the rumor is accurate. There were no limits to how many points and bonus nights could be earned (aside from the dates of the promotional period) last year and it looks like this will be the same.

Like other Marriott Bonvoy® promos it looks like this one will be for paid stays only and award nights will not count. Bonus nights do count towards lifetime status, so if you’re going for that this can be helpful.

Anthony’s Take: This is great news. My 2025 plan is to lock in my Titanium status as early as possible and then focus on Hyatt and maybe Hilton. I’m already at 47 nights toward requalifying with Marriott and this will help push that over. Work travel has me in lots of Marriott properties and the spend has been high. If this keeps up, I might even hit Ambassador again.

I’ve been Titanium and Platinum before and in fact just hit Lifetime Platinum today (yay!?). Do you see any notable benefits from Titanium versus Platinum? I see Marriott as having become increasingly antagonistic to engaged loyalty members which makes me want to avoid them but I’d like to hear what you have to say on the matter so I’m not in an echo chamber.

Congrats on the Lifetime Platinum. I made that when SPG and Marriott merged, but was just short of Lifetime Titanium, which is no longer offered. I was Ambassador for years and found little difference between that and Titanium. I do find that Titanium gets more upgrades than Platinum.

Hi Anthony: I have just discovered your site. Love it! Can you tell me how this works / how you achieve this: “I’m already at 47 nights toward requalifying with Marriott and this will help push that over.”

Also, what do you mean “Titanium gets more upgrades than Platinum”? I am Titanium but seem to struggle achieving upgrades at any of the nicer brands above Courtyard. It doesn’t seem to work when I request upgrades in advance nor when I request at the counter. Doing something wrong, I guess? Thanks.

Thanks for your kind words! I start the year with 25 nights for holding the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card and 15 nights from the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card. I find that it is all about the length of your stay. Most of mine are 1 to 2 nights and that helps with upgrades.

Hi again. So, that Amex card doesn’t just get you the Platinum status, it also gives you 25 nights each year as a starting point?

Yes. How did you hit Titanium?

As to upgrades, if you visit Asia or to a lesser extent Europe you’ll normally get much better upgrades as well as nicer lounges. There’s just too many elites in the USA.

If you’re asking me, I hit Titanium with 40 nights from credit cards and 35 from stays and promos last year. This year I could hit Ambassador with the way the year is starting.

Sorry, I was asking Mark since he seemed a bit taken aback by the credit card elite night credits. You outlined yours pretty clearly. I’m wondering if he hit Titanium through 75+ actual nights without the credit card boost. If so then he might be a good candidate for a bonvoy card or two to reach Ambassador status.

Yes. It gives you 25 nights and Platinum status. You still need to earn 50 more to hit Titanium. If you’re interested in getting the card, I would be grateful if you used one of my links: https://www.cardratings.com/details/credit-card/marriot-bonvoy-brilliant-american-express-card.html?src=693392

I hit Titanium but did it the wrong way I guess lol. I actually accumulated most of those nights through actual stays. I did get some help early in the year with the Q1 Promo ( searching for news on the Q1 Promo for 2025 is what brought me to your sight ) but that only helped me for about 10 extra nights because I signed up for it late. So, I ended the year with 98 nights. I was 2 nights short for Ambassador status but I wouldn’t have made it anyway because of the spend requirement. I stay mostly at Courtyards for work. So, that Amex card would help me to get/keep Titanium status and probably push me over 100 nights too. I still have the problem of achieving the $23K spend. That’s a big number. Any other tricks / tips / suggestions? Thanks again.

Hi Anthony. Great education. I am a lifetime Titanium, and have the regular (blue) Marriott Visa card. Any advantages to this AMEX Brilliangly or the AMEX business card?
Thank you

I am Titanium as well. I have both cards and like that they give me 40 nights total (25 and 15) towards requalification. I split my loyalty between Marriott and Hyatt. This helps me meet the night requirements.

Hi Anthony, are you sure that you get both 25 nights from one Marriott credit card and another 15 nights from your other Marriott credit card? I thought that Marriott had a firm rule that when you have more than one Marriott credit card, you only get credit for nights from the one with the higher night credit… In this case, the 25 nights. I own multiple Marriott credit cards and I only get the 25 nights from my American Express Brilliant credit card. Please let me know, I just want to make sure I am not missing something. Thank you!

You can only earn night credits from one personal credit card. You can also earn from the business card. That’s the difference. One personal and one business.

Thank you for the clarification Anthony – that is correct, Marriott does allow earned elite nights from a business card in addition to the elite nights earned from a personal card. It was not clear in your original post that one was a personal card and one was a business card, so this is very helpful to understand. Thank you.
