Back in February, I wrote about how the Hong Kong Airport Authority was giving away 500,000 airline tickets in an effort to boost tourism. These tickets were purchased by the government during the shutdown to support these airlines as part of a bailout package during the pandemic. Other regions have already seen tickets given away and US passengers’ turn is coming up this week.
This Wednesday evening, Cathay Pacific will email members of its frequent flyer program with a link to book free roundtrip flights in economy to Hong Kong. If you are not currently a member, sign up here. That email is scheduled to be sent at 7:00 PM CST on Wednesday, May 17th. Free tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients are responsible for paying the taxes, fees, and surcharges. 2,890 tickets will be available and are limited to one free roundtrip ticket per member.
Anthony’s Take: If Hong Kong is on your wishlist, this could be a great way to get there for next to no cost. Get ready to sign up tomorrow. Good Luck!
