Canada Jetlines (known as Jetlines) is a Canadian ultra low-cost airline. It follows the business model of European low-cost carriers like Ryanair and easyJet by offering flights from smaller secondary airports whenever possible. It just announced that it will begin service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) this fall.

Service will begin on October 30th and run 4x weekly with an Airbus A320. Canada Jetlines will join Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing, Lynx, and Flair, which flies to nearby Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) in connecting Toronto to Florida. WestJet is also rumored to begin flying to Orlando soon.

Anthony’s Take: I know demand for flights from Canada to Florida is high, but seven airlines connecting the two cities seems excessive. We’ll see how this all shakes out.

Would jetlines just disappear already. There isn’t enough population in Canada to support that many airlines. So what we are going to have is another airline that disappoints it’s customers. Just like flair. Competition in aviation is good…….. to a certain point, then it becomes disastrous and even dangerous.
