Azores Airlines connects the Azores Archipelago with Africa, Europe, and North America using a fleet of Airbus A320-200, A320neo, A321LR, A321neo, and Boeing 767 aircraft. It’s launching several new routes this month including flights to Boston, London, Milan, New York, and Toronto.

Toronto

North America

Starting today, June 1st, Azores Airlines will connect Madeira Airport (FNC) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) 1x weekly through September 28th. Flights between Aeroporto João Paulo II (PDL) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) also commence on June 1st and run 2x daily though October 7th (then the service shifts to 6x weekly). Azores Airlines will begin flying between Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) 1x weekly through September 24th. Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) will also see flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) 1x weekly through September 28th.

London

Europe

Azores Airlines will begin flying from Aeroporto João Paulo II (PDL) to Faro International Airport (FAO) 3x weekly from June 2nd through September 28th; to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) 2x weekly between June 5th and September 27th; and to London Gatwick Airport (LGW) 2x weekly from June 4th through September 26th.

Azores Airlines offers the most flights to/from the Azores. In addition to offering nonstop flights, Azores Airlines also offers the Azores Stopover program that allows stopovers of up to seven days to explore the Azores before heading onto your final destination. Other airlines serving the Azores include United from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), TAP Air Portugal from Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), Lufthansa from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) and Munich International Airport (MUC), Ryanair from Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), Iberia from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD), and British Airways from London Heathrow Airport (LHR), Edelweiss Air from Zurich Airport (ZRH), Condor and Eurowings from Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), and a host of other European cities with flights from easyJet, Jet2, SmartWings, TUI Air, Transavia, Wizz Air.

Graça Silva, Director of Sales, Marketing and Communication, said:

The new bets are the result of concerted efforts with several agents and business partners. It provides more options for passengers who want to reach the Azores and more opportunities or those who wish to travel between Europe and North America. These investments will consolidate the sustained growth trajectory seen at the airline in recent years.”

Anthony’s Take: Azores Airlines continues to add nonstop routes within Europe and some exciting additions to North America. I’ve been to Portugal many times, but never to the Azores. These islands are definitely on the list.
