Delta Air Lines flight DL316 got scary on Sunday night when a passenger freaked out and attempted to open one of the plane’s door while in flight. The Seattle-bound plane managed to land safely, but a flight attendant was assaulted during the incident.
DL316 (ATL-SEA) guy in 2B goes crazy and attacks the snack basket and tries to open the door to the plane

The flight was en route from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Apparently, the passenger in seat 2B got upset, hit the flight attendant, and “attack[ed] the snack basket,” and tried to open the door. The other First Class passengers got involved and restrained the passenger. Zip Ties were used to further keep the irate man in check until the plane was able to reach Seattle. The passenger was taken off the plane by law enforcement.
OneofLittleHarmony reported on Reddit that they were not sure if the man was intoxicated or was having mental health issues, but regardless of the cause it had to be a scary incident.
Matt James, a former NCAA football player and the lead of the 25th season of The Bachelor was onboard and took a video of the arrest. You can watch the video in his Instagram Story.
Anthony’s Take: I’m sure that tensions were high on the eve of 9/11 to begin with and a passenger losing it only made that worse. Thankfully, the plane made it safely and the man was taken into custody by law enforcement. Since the pandemic, social decency has been tossed out (especially on planes) and incidents continue to pop up on an almost daily basis.
