I first wrote about the upcoming St. Regis London back in 2024. Now, after delays measured in years rather than months, Marriott is finally on the verge of introducing its iconic St. Regis brand to the United Kingdom. The highly anticipated St. Regis London is now expected to open in October 2026. This marks a major milestone for Marriott’s luxury portfolio and brings one of hospitality’s most prestigious brands to the heart of the British capital. I’m particularly excited because I loved the former hotel in this space and the location is perfect.

The property is currently undergoing the final stages of an extensive redevelopment and Marriott has now provided the clearest indication yet of when guests can expect the hotel to welcome its first visitors. While reservations have not yet opened, the website now lists October as the anticipated opening month. This means that pricing could emerge in the coming weeks.

Located at the intersection of Bond Street and Conduit Street on the eastern edge of Mayfair, The St. Regis London occupies one of the city’s most desirable addresses. The hotel sits within walking distance of some of London’s most exclusive luxury boutiques and flagship stores while also providing convenient access to many of the capital’s most famous attractions.

Westbury

The building previously operated as the Westbury Mayfair Hotel before closing during the global pandemic. I last stayed there in November 2019. Marriott first announced plans to convert the property into a St. Regis hotel in February 2022. Initial projections targeted an opening in 2024, but timelines were subsequently pushed back to 2025 and later to spring 2026. October appears set to become the long-awaited launch date for the brand’s UK debut.

When it opens, The St. Regis London will feature 193 guestrooms (including 66 suites). Interior design firm Richmond International has led the transformation of the hotel’s interiors. The design concept incorporates references to the bespoke tailoring traditions of nearby Savile Row and the legacy of the famous auction rooms that have long been associated with the area. The hotel is expected to debut with a collection of dining and drinking venues, although not all outlets may be operational on opening day. As is often the case with major luxury hotel launches, a phased rollout of amenities is considered likely.

Leading the culinary offering will be Le Perroquet, an all-day French brasserie overseen by acclaimed chef Daniel Rose. The restaurant will mark Rose’s first venture in London following his success with La Bourse et La Vie in Paris and the Michelin-starred Le Coucou in New York City. In addition, the hotel is developing a separate signature restaurant that will be led by Executive Head Chef Robert Aikens. Further details about the concept have yet to be revealed. For guests seeking classic St. Regis hospitality, the hotel will preserve the building’s historic Polo Bar, which is expected to serve a localized interpretation of the brand’s signature Bloody Mary cocktail. The property will also feature a Library Lounge.

Anthony’s Take: With construction and renovations entering their final phase, The St. Regis London appears closer than ever to opening its doors. If the October 2026 timeline holds, Marriott will finally deliver one of the most anticipated luxury hotel openings in the UK market and bring the St. Regis brand to one of London’s most prestigious neighborhoods after a development journey that has tested the patience of travelers and industry watchers alike. I know I have been chomping at the bit to stay here.
