The Luxury Collection brand has officially returned to New York City with the debut of The London, a Luxury Collection Hotel, New York City. This is the rebranding of The Luxury Collection Hotel Manhattan Midtown (review here) and a return to a previous name. This hotel was the Conrad New York Midtown, The London before that, and the Rihga Royal Hotel when it opened in 1990. The latest refresh brings a new identity and elevated guest experience to one of Midtown Manhattan’s most recognizable all-suite hotels.
Located at 151 West 54th Street, just steps from Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Broadway theaters, and some of the city’s most acclaimed restaurants, the newly rebranded property blends the sophistication of London with the energy and character of New York. The hotel introduces a new vision centered on residential-style accommodations and immersive local experiences.

Rising 54 stories above Manhattan, the hotel features 562 suites, which makes them among the largest accommodations available in Midtown. Designed to feel more like a private apartment than a traditional hotel room, each suite includes a separate living room, spacious layouts, and elegantly appointed bathrooms. Many suites also offer sweeping views of Central Park and the iconic New York City skyline.
The hotel’s new identity extends beyond its accommodations. Inspired by the tradition of London’s leisurely social hour between the workday and evening engagements, The London introduces a signature Daily Epicurean Moment for guests. The experience features artisanal cheeses from New York favorite Murray’s Cheese paired with wines from regional producers, creating a relaxed gathering space where guests can unwind and connect while enjoying flavors rooted in the local community.
The Luxury Collection says the concept is designed to offer more than just a place to stay. Instead, the property aims to provide a deeper connection to its surroundings through curated experiences that reflect both New York’s vibrant culture and the refined sensibilities associated with London.
The opening represents another milestone in The Luxury Collection’s global expansion, while reinforcing New York City’s position as one of the world’s premier luxury travel destinations. With its spacious suites, prime Midtown location, and focus on authentic local experiences, The London, a Luxury Collection Hotel, New York City seeks to offer travelers a sophisticated new way to experience Manhattan.
Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection, said:
The introduction of The London, a Luxury Collection Hotel, New York City marks an exciting next chapter for the property, further strengthening our presence in one of the world’s most culturally dynamic destinations. New York City has long been defined by its creative energy, its culinary and artistic depth, and its enduring influence on global culture. With this hotel, we are proud to build upon our presence in the city through a property that reflects both its international spirit and its distinctly local character.”
Anthony’s Take: I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and look forward to returning. The Luxury Collection is one of my favorite brands and I’m happy it’s back in NYC.
