Delta Air Lines is shifting its New York to/from Bermuda service and moving operations from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) while maintaining connectivity to the popular island destination.
Starting October 6th, Delta will launch a new route between New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA). The service will operate 4x weekly using Airbus A319 aircraft. These offer 12 Delta First, 24 Delta Comfort, and 96 Delta Main seats. Delta will discontinue its existing service to/from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) the day before on October 5th.
The move brings Bermuda service closer to Manhattan for many travelers, as New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) primarily handles domestic and short-haul international routes. American will continue to fly between Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) while both United Airlines and BermudAir offer flights to/from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Anthony’s Take: Passengers flying from New York will still have access to Bermuda, but from a different airport that may offer easier access and shorter travel times to and from the city.
