Delta Air Lines is expanding its premium transcontinental network from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with the return of nonstop service to/from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport (SNA) beginning May 7th.

The route will operate daily except Saturdays and will be flown on a Boeing 757 configured with a premium-heavy cabin layout designed for coast-to-coast comfort. Onboard, customers will have access to 16 Delta One®, 44 Delta Comfort, 108 Delta Main Cabin seats.

Delta last served this route in 2019. Its 2026 return marks a notable upgrade in onboard experience. The introduction of Delta One® on the route brings lie-flat seating and elevated premium service to travelers flying between Southern California and New York.

Anthony’s Take: The new service strengthens Delta’s position in the competitive premium transcontinental space and offers customers an additional option for business and leisure travel between two key coastal markets. American Airlines currently flies the route and Delta is bringing some competition. With its almost daily frequency and enhanced cabin offerings, Delta’s return to Orange County reflects continued demand for high-end cross-country connectivity from New York.
