After spending a night at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong (review here), we walked over to the St. Regis Hong Kong. Both are located in the Wan Chai area of the city and it was a quick trip between hotels. We spent the next two nights at the hotel and got a good sense of it, overall.
Anthony’s Take: The St. Regis Hong Kong is an elegant hotel with a boutique feel and some great amenities. We enjoyed breakfast and dined in one of the two MICHELIN-starred restaurants. Even though we were not upgraded to a suite, the room we had was huge and the welcome amenity was lovely.

Booking
I booked a 1 King Bed, City View, Guest Room through Marriott STARS for around $935 including taxes and fees. It was the same rate as booking a Member Flexible Rate on Marriott.com. If you want to get the benefits offered through Marriott STARS, I can help with reservations. Just email me at anthony.losanno@fora.travel.

Transportation to/from the Hotel
We walked between hotels on to get there and took an Uber to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) after our two-day stay. The walk took around six minutes and the ride took around 40 minutes and cost $68.
Location
As mentioned, the hotel is in the Wan Chai neighborhood on Hong Kong Island. It’s easy to get everywhere on foot and via Uber from the hotel. We enjoyed dining in and wandering Wan Chai during our stay.

The hotel has a huge portico for pickups and dropoffs.

Massive doors lead to a lower lobby with reception an elevator ride up.

These elevators took us to the main lobby.

The hotel was decked out for Christmas.

The Christmas tree in the lobby was huge, but smaller than the one at the Grand Hyatt.

The lobby offered some comfortable seating.

I think the space accomplished its mission of feeling like a mansion.

Check-in
Reception is close to the elevators. We arrived around 3:30 PM and our room was ready (the agent informed me that the hotel was sold out). The agent explained all of the benefits of booking through Marriott STARS. These included:
- $100 USD or USD equivalent property credit per stay (conversion rate is determined by the hotel)
- Priority for complimentary room upgrade (based on availability upon arrival)
- Daily complimentary breakfast for two guests per day
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Personalized welcome amenity and letter
- Early Check-in/late Check-out (based upon availability)
I selected points as my amenity for holding Marriott Bonvoy® Titanium Elite status. He asked if we needed late checkout. I asked for 2:00 PM and this was granted. The agent printed our keys and we were off to our room a moment later.

The elevator lobby and hallways were elegant, clean, and in good repair.

1 King Bed, City View, Guest Room (1908)
The St. Regis Hong Kong offers 129 guest rooms and suites.

The room was 538 square feet, but felt even larger. It opened with a small foyer. The large bathroom was nearby.

A space for luggage was also there.

A closet held hangers and more space for luggage.

A blanket was in the drawer.

The safe was also there.

The bathroom featured a bathtub, glassed-in shower, vanity with dual sinks, and a separate space for the toilet.

The bathtub was large.

Sodashi brand bar soap, a loofah, and bath salts were next to the tub.

The shower was across from the bathtub. The shower was large and offered good water pressure and temperature.

Large bottles of toiletries were on a shelf in the shower.

The vanity held two sinks and a good amount of counter space.

More bar soap, hand soap, and body lotion were on the counter near the sink.

A vanity table with an additional tray of amenities was in the corner.

The toilet was in its own room.

The bedroom was oversized. It held a king-sized, nightstands, a chair and ottoman with a small table, and a corner table with sofa and chair (as well as a TV and mini bar).

The chair and ottoman were near the window.

The corner was filled by a table, sofa, and another chair.

The TV stood on a cabinet across from the bed.

The table held some local sweets.

A bottle of Champagne was later delivered.

Some office supplies were also on the table.

I liked the inclusion of a live orchid.

The mini bar was filled with beverages for sale. Liquor for sale was on the shelves above.

One drawer held coffee pods, tea, and more.

Another drawer had wine and snacks for sale.

A Nespresso machine and cans of complimentary water were on the counter.

The views were pretty nice.

Dinner
We had dinner at Rùn. The two-MICHELIN-starred Chinese restaurant served classic Cantonese. It was a great experience and I used the $100 credit from the STARS booking to cover some of the dinner (it was close to $400 total).

The service was impeccable.

The decor was elegant and understated.

We enjoyed all of the dishes that we tasted (and we had quite a few).

Breakfast
The St. Regis Hong Kong does not offer a breakfast buffet, but it does have a special menu where you can order as much as you want. Breakfast is offered in the lobby restaurant called The Drawing Room.

I started both mornings with a latte.

Fruit and a pastry basket were brought to the table.

I ordered the Cage-Free Egg Breakfast Set both mornings. The only complaint with breakfast was that the service was delayed and the staff seemed to not have enough members to accommodate all of the diners.

Public Areas & Amenities
The St. Regis Hong Kong offers three restaurants, a bar, a fitness center, a spa, and an outdoor pool (pictured above).

The fitness center offered a good amount of equipment.

Towels, apples, and water were offered.
Overall Impression:
The St. Regis Hong Kong is a lovely hotel and a great choice when visiting one of my favorite cities. The service, accommodations, and amenities were all top notch. The dining was also excellent and I want to go back to try out the MICHELIN-starred French restaurant.
