JetBlue is expanding its footprint in New York with the launch of new year-round flights between Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new route will begin on March 26th and operate 5x weekly.
The new service underscores JetBlue’s continued investment in its home state and its long-standing commitment to connecting New Yorkers with leisure destinations. The airline has served Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) since 2000 and this expansion marks another milestone in its effort to strengthen regional connectivity. With this addition, JetBlue will operate flights to/from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and eight airports across New York (more than any other carrier).
To celebrate the new route, JetBlue has launched special introductory fares starting at $49 one-way (available exclusively on its site). The new service gives Rochester residents direct access to one of the country’s most popular vacation destinations while expanding options for Florida travelers looking to explore the cultural and scenic attractions of Upstate New York.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, said:
JetBlue is proud to grow in Rochester, bringing our low fares and award-winning customer experience to more travelers. Orlando is one of the most popular destinations for Upstate New Yorkers, and this new route gives customers an easy way to get to the sunshine, theme parks, and all the attractions Central Florida has to offer.”
Anthony’s Take: JetBlue has been going back to its routes and connecting travelers to East Coast leisure markets. This will hopefully work for the airline as it’s trying to regain footing after several bumpy years.
