Travelers heading to the Bahamas will soon have a faster, easier way to reach one of the Caribbean’s most scenic regions. Beginning November 23rd, Bahamasair will introduce nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and North Eleuthera Airport (ELH). This creates a direct link to the pink-sand beaches and laid-back charm of northern Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and Spanish Wells.

The new route will operate 2x weekly, with flights every Wednesday and Sunday through January 4th. Departing in the early afternoon, the short flight will reach North Eleuthera in roughly two hours, with return legs scheduled for convenient day or weekend travel. North Eleuthera serves as the gateway to some of the Bahamas’ most iconic island destinations, including Harbour Island (famed for its powdery pink-sand beach) and Spanish Wells, which is known for its historic fishing village and turquoise shallows.
Beyond these popular spots, Eleuthera itself offers a wealth of attractions for travelers seeking authentic Bahamian culture and natural tranquility. The new route enhances air connectivity across the Eastern Caribbean and positions Bahamasair as a key player in expanding travel options beyond Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). American Airlines has been the only US carrier operating nonstop service to North Eleuthera, flying exclusively from Miami International Airport (MIA). Bahamasair’s new route introduces a second nonstop option from Florida (Miami and Orlando are currently available, but require a connection in Nassau).
Anthony’s Take: Exuma continues to be my favorite part of the Bahamas. I have not been to Eleuthera or Harbour Island, but they look gorgeous.
