Lufthansa’s highly anticipated Allegris cabin experience has officially arrived at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). This marks a major milestone in the airline’s global strategy. Starting today, passengers departing from Frankfurt can enjoy Lufthansa’s most advanced onboard product aboard its new Boeing 787-9, which feature cutting-edge technology across all travel classes.
The first Allegris-equipped flight from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) took off today and it launches the next phase of Lufthansa’s long-haul transformation. With the start of the winter 2025/2026 schedule, additional routes to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) (starting in December), Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport (BOG), Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD), and Rio de Janeiro/Galeão–Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (GIG).
These long-haul routes will be operated by Lufthansa’s newest Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which join the fleet of Airbus A350-900s already flying Allegris-equipped routes from Munich Airport (MUC) since May 2024. Each aircraft showcases Lufthansa’s next-generation design ethos and emphasizes personalization, comfort, and innovation across all classes.
Since its debut, more than 500,000 passengers have experienced the Allegris product. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Internal surveys show that over 90% of travelers rated their experience as excellent while citing improvements in comfort, design, and overall cabin ambiance. The expansion to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) now makes Allegris accessible to a broader international audience and reinforces Lufthansa’s goal of delivering a consistent and elevated travel experience across its major European hubs.

- First Class: Available on select Airbus A350-900 and future Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the cabin features three private suites arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. Two single suites line the windows, while the Suite Plus, a double in the center, allows two passengers to share a fully enclosed space for dining or rest.
- Business Class: Featuring seven unique seat types, including Business Suites with sliding doors, extra-long beds, and double seats with adjustable privacy dividers. There are 38 seats in the Business Class cabin.

- Economy Class: Completely redesigned with ergonomic seating, larger entertainment screens, and modern cabin lighting all enhances comfort on long-haul journeys (201 seats).
The rollout of Allegris began in May 2024 on the Airbus A350-900. Over the following months, the Munich Airport (MUC) base expanded Allegris operations to destinations including Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), Cape Town International Airport (CPT), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Miami International Airport (MIA), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND).
With the arrival of the new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) hub is now fully integrated into Lufthansa’s next-generation service platform. Additional aircraft deliveries in the coming months will allow the airline to announce new Allegris destinations and extend the product’s reach even further.
Francesco Sciortino, Hub Manager Frankfurt at Lufthansa Airlines, said:
We are delighted that we will now be able to offer our passengers from Frankfurt our latest and significantly upgraded travel experience on long-haul flights with Allegris. Allegris has been enthusiastically received by guests who have already experienced it. We are therefore particularly proud that the new premium cabin is now also being used on other routes and above all, from our largest hub.”
Anthony’s Take: I love Lufthansa and the new cabins look gorgeous. I cannot wait to try it out.
