Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are combining loyalty programs into a unified one known as Atmos™ Rewards on October 1st. No details have officially been released, but the name was trademarked in November 2024 and a website exists but is not yet ready to go.
Beginning October 1st, HawaiianMiles and Mileage Plan™ members will see their accounts transition into the new loyalty program. That means:
- All miles transfer 1:1 into the new program
- Elite status and benefits will carry over automatically
- Miles will never expire
- Credit card perks and Huaka‘i by Hawaiian benefits stay with those that hold them
The new name: Atmos™ Rewards is not great. I’m not sure exactly what it means, but that seems to be the way many programs go. Marriott rebranded its Marriott Rewards into the current program known as Marriott Bonvoy® in February 2019. The name has not had the effect that executives were hoping for and actually became a term (“Bonvoyed”) which means to have a negative experience with the hotelier. It’s common for loyalty programs when brands combine to take one name (like American AAdvantage® that survived the merger with US Airways), but in this case Alaska and Hawaiian will have something new.
Anthony’s Take: We still have no details around earnings, redemptions, and benefits of the new program. It’s now known that it will be called Atmos™ Rewards and we’ll have more information later this month.

The new name was leaked over two months ago and has been actively discussed on FlyerTalk.
