We started our last trip to Italy with a stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. This was the first time I had stayed at the hotel after years of wanting to check it out. It’s a gorgeous property, but I think I prefer the Park Hyatt Vienna (review here) and the Park Hyatt Zurich (review here). The location is incredible with the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II steps outside of the hotel and the Milan Cathedral a few minutes walk.
Anthony’s Take: We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. The suite was well equipped and comfortable. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely friendly and the hotel is quite luxe, overall. Breakfast was elaborate and high quality. The hotel is not the easiest to find when driving, but we made it and the staff took good care of our car.
Booking
I booked directly on Hyatt.com on a “Standard Room Free Night” rate for 40,000 World of Hyatt® points and used a Suite Upgrade Award. The Park Junior Suite was perfect for us and I was happy to have that locked down at booking. Cash rates had a standard room clocking in at more than €1,000 for the night (the Park Junior Suite was €1,750). This hotel falls in the Category 8 redemption bucket, which means that a standard room will cost between 35,000 and 45,000 points.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
We drove from Milan Linate Airport (LIN) to the hotel. The trip was around 10.2 kilometers and took around 23 minutes. When we left, we had a longer drive to our next stop in Cremia.
Location
The hotel is well situated for exploring the city with most of the city’s best shopping, restaurants, and attractions nearby. The hotel literally butts up against the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Check-in
We arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM and our suite was not ready. We were invited to use the spa until they called. We went down there and hung out for a little more than an hour. At that time, I reached out to the front desk and was told that it was ready for us. Breakfast was free as a Globalist and offered in the restaurant located in the lobby. I requested a 2:00 PM late checkout and was immediately granted it.
The lobby was small with very limited seating that is not part of the restaurant.
Elevators were located to the right upon entering the hotel with reception to the left.
I loved all of the fresh flowers.
The elevator lobby and hallways were clean and in good order. Our floor smelled pretty bad throughout the stay (like a mix of trash and fish). This is not expected at a luxury hotel and I have no idea what was causing the odor.
Park Junior Suite (220)
There are 108 guest rooms and suites at the Park Hyatt Milan.
The suite opened with a living area straight ahead. It held a sofa, two chairs, a table, and a bar cabinet with a TV above it.
I loved the live plants in the suite.
The bar cabinet had a Lavazza espresso machine on it.
There were two cans of water inside the left drawer.
The right drawer held glasses.
The right cabinet had a tea pot and kettle.
A center drawer held a box with tea and condiments.
Coffee cups were in a lower drawer.
The refrigerator was also here. It was filled and nothing could be moved without triggering sensors. There was no empty space for guest use.
An ice bucket was in the final cabinet.
A welcome amenity consisting of a bottle of Prosecco and some fresh fruit was delivered as a welcome amenity.
The bedroom was on the other side of a partition. It held a king-sized bed, a bench, and two nightstands.
Another TV was on the wall across from the bed along with a second bench.
A full-length mirror was on the wall nearby.
We had a view of the dome that covers the restaurant.
The bathroom was to the left of the living area. It was massive.
Inside was a vanity with two sinks.
There were a lot of toiletries on offer here.
Bars of Lorenzo Villoresi brand soap were next to the sinks.
The wall across from the vanity was covered with closets. One just held hangers.
A second closet held bathrobes.
The third offered a safe and some laundry bags.
A makeup vanity table was nearby.
A large bathtub was to the side.
Bath salts and soap were on the ledge above.
The shower was large with good water temperature and pressure.
Toiletries were in large bottles on the shelf.
A toilet and bidet were in a separate room.
Another bar of soap was found here.
Breakfast
As mentioned, we had breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant, La Cupola, during our stay. It offers a nice buffet plus several hot dishes that could be ordered directly from the servers. The restaurant is located off of the lobby and was spacious and not crowded when we visited. This included benefit for Globalists has great value here. The buffet for the two of us would have been over $150 per day. It was totally comped along with gratuity. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM every day.
Doughnuts and macaron
Muffins and pastries
Cold cuts and smoked fish

Fresh fruit, bread, and a toaster for guest use
The bread was so good.

Freshly-sliced prosciutto
Mediterranean specialties
More breads and croissants
Cheese and guacamole
Yogurt and fruit
Gluten-free pastries
Cereal and milk
Congee, soup, and oatmeal
My husband ordered an omelette. He said it tasted good. Cappuccino was also delivered by a server.
I liked dining under the dome.
Amenities
The Park Hyatt Milan has a nice spa and fitness center that includes segregated steam rooms, a co-ed jacuzzi, and a good amount of exercise equipment. There are not many other amenities aside from the restaurant above and one other called Pellico 3 Milano.
There were multiple lounge chairs in the spa for relaxing.
The locker room was well appointed.
I liked that shaving kits and toothbrushes were provided.
Complimentary water was also plentiful.
There were several showers.
Several bathrooms were also located here.
A steam room was located in the men’s locker room.
We did not get to use the fitness center and I forgot to take photos. These are from the hotel’s website.
Overall Impression:
The Park Hyatt Milan is a lovely city hotel. It does not have much in terms of common areas or amenities, but it makes up for it with great service and impeccable accommodations.
