Frontier Airlines announced today that it’s adding three new flights this spring. These include new routes to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), and Tampa International Airport (TPA).

In May, Frontier will add flights to three popular vacation destinations. The new offerings include:

  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to/from Tampa International Airport (TPA) (2x to 4x weekly; starts on May 2nd)
  • Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to/from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) (1x weekly; starts on May 17th)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to/from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (1x daily; begins on May 1st)

These new routes come with some stiff competition. American Airlines flies up to 11x daily between Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Tampa International Airport (TPA). Spirit also flies this route daily. United Airlines flies 5x daily between Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).

Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, said:

The addition of these new routes is part of our mission to offer consumers affordable, convenient flight options to a wide variety of destinations throughout the U.S., Caribbean and beyond. As we begin 2025, we are launching the next chapter of The New Frontier, providing consumers even more ways to enjoy the best value in air travel and experience a more seamless and comfortable journey.”

Anthony’s Take: Frontier continues to expand its map with routes that should drive leisure travel. Going up against the legacy carriers in their hubs is risky, but hopefully these new flights will add some price pressure on American and United.
