I tried to taste test United’s Mezzi Rigatoni, but was served something else last Thursday. This week, I pre-ordered the dish again and was served the correct version on my flight from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Tampa International Airport (TPA).

I’ve been making an effort to taste all of the dishes that United and Delta are offering domestic First Class passengers. Some are tasty and others I would recommend skipping. Today’s Mezzi Rigatoni was actually served in Vodka Sauce.

The tray included a white bread roll (warmed) and the green salad that United has been serving lately (a big step up from the old bowl of shredded cabbage). The pasta was still somewhat al dente and the sauce was flavorful. I would order this dish again in the future.

I’ve raved many times about Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding and will continue to devour it every time that it’s served. It’s the perfect dessert and i hope this partnership lasts years. I first had it years ago in New York City and have since gone to the Chicago location for it many times. It’s creamy and a taste of home. I wrote about this partnership in December and am so happy to keep consuming these little containers.

Anthony’s Take: This meal was another winner. I would not have thought a year ago that I would be praising United’s in-flight catering, but the carrier is stepping up its game. We’ll see if Polaris improves as well, but for Domestic First I’m quite content with most of the current menu.
