United Airlines has updated its route map with a few new additions this week. The airline will add two new routes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and two from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) beginning in December.

From Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), United will begin flying to Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) in Colorado and Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) in West Virginia. The flights to this Colorado airport will begin on February 15th and run 1x weekly on Saturdays through March 29th. The flights will be operated by SkyWest (flying as United Express) with an Embraer E175 with 12 First Class, 16 Economy Plus®, and 48 Economy Class seats.

The West Virginia flights represent a new destination for United. Service to Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) will begin on December 13th with a Bombardier CRJ-200. These flights will run 1x daily and offer 46 Economy Class seats (these should be 50-seat jets, but the seatmaps on United.com are missing row 2).

From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), two new routes will soon be flying. These include Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW), which will begin on December 13th with a Bombardier CRJ-200. These flights will run 1x daily and offer 46 Economy Class seats (I still think these planes should have 50 seats and the seatmaps are displaying oddly on United’s site).

The other new route will be to/from South Bend International Airport (SBN). This will kick off on December 3rd and run 1x daily with an Embraer E175 with 12 First Class, 16 Economy Plus®, and 48 Economy Class seats (operated by Republic Airways as United Express).

Anthony’s Take: I caused quite a stir the other day by accidentally reporting that some United routes were being cut. My information was wrong and I apologize. These new routes are loaded and ready to buy on United.com.

Skywest CRJ 50-seaters only sell 46 seats in advance with row 2 blocked for weight and balance purposes. These seats can be unblocked day of departure depending on need and how the final aircraft load works out. This was a result of the last increase in average passenger weights by the FAA used in weight and balance calcs.
