This week, I had a conference at the W Nashville. I have not been to Nashville in years and found the W the perfect spot with lots of amenities, great treatment of Marriott Bonvoy® elite members, and comfortable rooms.
Anthony’s Take: Although I did not spend much time exploring the city (other than for dinners), I found the W Nashville the perfect place to stay with a nice suite upgrade, all the amenities that business or leisure travelers could want, and a fun vibe throughout without it being overhyped or too much.
Booking
I was booked in Spectacular 1 King, Guest Room, City View, Mid Floor on a conference rate of $376 per night plus tax. This was substantially less than the rates on Marriott.com. The hotel can be booked with Marriott Bonvoy® points (70,000-122,500 points per night) with rates varying since Marriott eliminated its award buckets.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to the hotel. It cost around $35 to drive the 8.1 miles and took around 10 minutes. When I left, I took an Uber Comfort back. It also cost $35 for the same trip.
Location
This hotel is located in an area known as The Gulch. It was once the site of the city’s railroad yard and has been revitalized into a neighborhood with office space, retail, and restaurants. Most of the sites in Nashville are only a short ride away.
Check-in
I arrived at the hotel around 4:00 PM. I had done a mobile check-in and chosen 1,000 points as a welcome amenity. I saw in the app that I had been upgraded to a Fabulous Suite, 1 King. I love when hotels proactively upgrade to the suites and don’t play the inventory game. The agent asked if I needed a late checkout. I asked and was granted a 1:00 PM checkout. He printed two keys and I was in the elevator a few moments later.
Water is available for guests near the check-in desk.
There is tons of seating in the lobby and it was pretty busy during my stay.
The Restaurant at W Nashville is located near the entrance to the hotel. I did not have the opportunity to dine here during my visit. This is where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served.
The elevators are located in the middle of the lobby.
The elevator lobbies on each floor looked modern and were extremely clean.
The hallways were also in good repair. Housekeeping was on the floor multiple times each day.
Fabulous Suite, 1 King (841)
There are 286 rooms and 60 suites at the hotel.
There is a dining area immediately upon entering the room. The minibar is directly inside the door.
It had a Nespresso machine, coffee pods, and condiments on top.
Snacks and some bottles of wine were for sale.
The cabinet housed a refrigerator. It was filled with beverages for sale and some room for personal use.
Complimentary water (as well as Fiji water for sale).
A dining table and four chairs made up the front area.
The living room was nearby. It held several chairs, a couch, a TV, and tables.
I liked the big window in the living room. The same were also found in the bedroom.
The spacious bedroom was off of the living room.
The closet held a robe, garment steamer, and safe.
The nightstand had a pretty cool (and music-themed) radio shaped like an amp.
A TV was across from the bed.
The bathroom was to the left when entering the bedroom. It held a vanity with a single sink, a bathtub, and two separate rooms (one housed a shower and the other a toilet).
Comfort Zone Skin Regimen brand toiletries were found in large bottles on the counter.
A bar of soap was also there. I think that I prefer the Bliss brand toiletries that W Hotels used to offer.
The bathtub was across from the vanity.
A loofah was found on the ottoman near the tub.
The left door held the toilet.
The right door housed the shower. Water pressure was good but it never got above a tepid, warm temperature.
MOMO brand shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were found in large bottles in the shower.
Public Areas & Amenities
The W Nashville offers two restaurants, conference space, a fitness center, a pool, a store, a rooftop bar, and the coffee bar in the lobby. I did not have the opportunity to try any of the restaurants as my meals were catered for the conference or eaten outside of the hotel.
The fitness center was spacious and included lots of equipment (including a few Peloton Bikes).
More equipment and free weights
Towels, oranges, water, and chilled washcloths were provided.
The lobby holds a coffee bar, but I still made the trek to Starbucks.
Overall Impression: I really enjoyed my stay at the W Nashville. Service was friendly, the suite was well appointed, the hotel feels fresh and fun, and the amenities were all that is needed. I’d return next time I’m in Nashville.

Nice. Good to know there’s a viable option to The Grand Hyatt in The Gulch area.
