JetBlue’s first flight between New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) in St. Kitts and Nevis departed yesterday afternoon. This new route provides passengers with another choice from the New York-area and a new Caribbean destination for JetBlue.
Flights to St. Kitts will operate 3x weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays on an Airbus A320. With this new route, JetBlue will fly to over 39 international destinations in more than 24 countries with the bulk in Latin America and the Caribbean. For a limited time, travelers can take advantage of special $169 one-way fares for these flight (bookable here).
This new addition comes on the heels of JetBlue flyers losing another route next summer. As I wrote about yesterday, JetBlue will lose its slots at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) next summer and will need to cancel its flights from both Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (more here).
David Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, said:
We look forward to continuing to diversify our network, providing our customers exceptional travel experiences to more destinations. This new nonstop route not only introduces our low fares and great service to customers traveling to and from St. Kitts but provides access to all the cities we serve from New York and strengthens our presence in the Caribbean.”
Anthony’s Take: St. Kitts and Nevis is a great place for a holiday. If you go, I highly recommend the Park Hyatt there. JetBlue has made a lot of news this week and this new route is a positive bit. If island time is on your wishlist, the fare sale is tough to beat.
