Bilt Rewards will no longer offer points transfers to American Airlines as of June 24th. This was first announced in March, but a date was not set at that time.

This partnership was unique in that American Airlines is not a transfer partner with other programs like Chase Ultimate Rewards®, American Express Membership Rewards®, or Citi ThankYou® Rewards.

Bilt

The Bilt Rewards program will still offer transfers to the following airline partners:

  • Aer Lingus AerClub
  • Air Canada Aeroplan®
  • Air France/KLM Flying Blue®
  • Alaska Mileage Plan™
  • Avianca Lifemiles
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Emirates Skywards®
  • Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles
  • Iberia Plus
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
  • United MileagePlus®
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

All of these are on a 1:1 basis except for when Bilt offers lucrative Rent Day bonuses up to 150% (like it did last year with Air Canada, Air France/KLM, and Virgin Atlantic.

A Bilt spokesperson released the following statement:

Bilt and American have agreed to wind down our partnership beginning in June. We appreciate everything we’ve been able to accomplish together since Bilt’s launch in 2021.”

Anthony’s Take: Bilt Rewards offers some of the most valuable and transferrable points. I have taken advantage of bonuses with Air France/KLM and look forward to future opportunities.
