Earlier today, I wrote about United Airlines officially opening bookings for its new long-haul cabin product. This marks the first time travelers can reserve seats on the airline’s redesigned Boeing 787-9 featuring its Elevated interior including the Polaris® Studios. Now, United has revealed the cost of selecting one of these luxe seats.
The United Polaris® Studio seats are next level. These are positioned in the first row of each Business Class section and offer a total of eight, lie-flat, all-aisle-access seats with privacy doors, an extra ottoman seat for companions, exclusive entrées, an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche service paired with Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé, a post-dessert snack box, new amenity kits, wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and a huge 27-inch, 4K OLED screen.

The first flight to offer these United Polaris® Studios will go from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) on April 22nd.

The cost to choose one of these seats (after purchasing a Polaris® ticket for $6,258, which is more than $2,600 more than the other flight that day not in the new interior) is $499.

United Polaris® Studio amenities include exclusive hoodie-pajamas and slippers on all flights, new noise-cancelling headphones powered by Meridian technology, amenity kits featuring Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ luxury skincare products, United-branded playing cards, a plush velvet throw pillow on the ottoman as well as Saks Fifth Avenue bedding that includes a duvet, day blanket, large pillow, and cooling gel pillow.
Passengers who book a United Polaris® Studio suite have access to the airline’s Global Reception® area, receive preferred boarding alongside United Global Services® customers, and are eligible for United’s tarmac transfer program.
Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait to try out the new Polaris® Studios. A $499 upcharge on a flight to Singapore seems like a bargain. This is one of United’s longest flights and I’m curious if it will cost less when flights to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) are launched with these seats.
