Daniil Medvedev is a professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as the world number one in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and currently sits in 10th place. Medvedev has won 23 ATP Tour-level singles titles (including the 2021 US Open and 2020 ATP Finals). He was traveling yesterday from Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) to Miami International Airport (MIA) (with a connection somewhere since United does not fly this route nonstop) and along the way United lost his bags including the tennis racquets that he will need to play in the Miami Open.

Medvedev took to X to ask United about his missing bags.

He was met with an AI response.

Commenters ranged from saying he could get another racquet to making fun of his use of the airport codes in his message. These two are my favorites.

Anthony’s Take: Luckily, he is not scheduled to play until Friday, but I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to need equipment to play in a major sporting event and then have an airline lose it. I guess celebrities can have the same bad luck as the rest of us (and this is why I never check a bag).
